Install the app in your symbian mobile.

Start the app and take it to any 2D or 1D code it will scan the code and take you to the embedded destination.

Even you can create you own code.Go to http://192.194.197.205/mycode/web.asp address and register there and login. Now your code will be generated , there you can link your code to any page or blog.Suppose you have linked your facebook profile in that code.So then if you have data connection in your mobile just scan it through the upcode and automatically it will take you to your face book profile.

7 zip - The best software for zipping and un-zipping

Story number 1

Few days back Jeff downloaded a file from internet having extension of .UDF. After googling for at least 15 mins he came to know that it's an archive file. He was searching an unzip software to extract that particular file. But he was not a very technical person to find out a proper software to unzip it.

Story number 2

Manoj was in hurry in office he have to present a seminar in 30 mins.He told his colleague to mail the zip file.Now when he was going to open the zip file , winzip is showing that trial period is over he need to register.Manoj does not have that much time to either register or buy a zip utility.

• Unpacking only: ARJ, CAB, CHM, CPIO, CramFS, DEB, DMG, FAT, HFS, ISO, LZH, LZMA, MBR, MSI, NSIS, NTFS, RAR, RPM, SquashFS, UDF, VHD, WIM, XAR and Z.

First download the .exe file and install the software.

Now if you want to zip a folder right click on that folder , go the 7zip option now choose archive it.

Then the application will open there you can choose the mode of zipping and the type of zipping.You can even make it a encrypted also.

If you want to extract a zip file (rar,zip,7zip,ISO,DMG etc) you just need to right click on the file and go to 7zip option and click on the extract option.You are done.

I have used so many zip utility but I found this to be the best available in market and most of all it's free.Though Jzip is similar to this software, it has it own crowd. So uninstall all the pirated zip utility from your machine and install 7-zip and dont forget to let me know your comment about it.

Connect Laptop to Laptop via WLAN in Windows 7

Woow …. This is great right ?

Your old friend came to your house with his laptop. He got all the pictures of good old days …but hay you don’t have any network cable with RJ45 jack to connect to your laptop and get all the pictures. In worst case you don’t have internet connection also (say) … but you need to have all the pictures .What next?

Don’t worry … as if you have visited this blog you got the solution. J

This can work in Windows XP also but I am writing this for connecting laptop to laptop via WLAN card.

Steps you need to follow

• Go to control panel 
•  Go to Network  and Sharing Center option. See the following screen 

•  Click on the Set up a new connection or network.(Red circled)
•  Now select the option “Set up a wireless Ad hoc”.

 

•  Now after click on the next button a window will display for network name and security and password.

 

• As in here give a name of the network. (e.g.Tikit)
• Select the default security type ‘WPA2-Personal’and password (e.g.random123)
• Select the check box for Save this network.
• You will get a window saying that network is created.
• Now share one of your drive/folder in Windows .
• Start the WLAN device in other laptop and connect the Tikit network.
• It will ask for the password .Give the password what you have given in the time of creating the network.(e.g.random123)
• We are all set. Just open Network (in Windows 7) and you can see your friend’s computer.
• Be sure that both laptop should be under same workgroup. Check the workgroup from Computer properties. If not then make it as same name (e.g.WORKGROUP)

We are all done. Now you can transfer anything between these two laptop. Make sure you sharing of the folder or the drive.

Handbrake -- An Open Source Video Encoder - Decoder

Wow … sounds Good !!!

Yeah after a long time I have found a software which can support my daily activity for video encoding and decoding. Introducing handbrake , a open source software ,GPL licensed ,multithreaded video transcoder .

Now after download install it. It is very easy, just follow the wizard and your are done.

How to Use

After start the application will get a screen like this

 

 

Now you have to select the file to transform. Follow the below screen and click on the Source button. Then select the video file option you want to select mp4,avi,flv,3gp etc file. Otherwise if you want to convert the DVD into .avi or .mp4 format select the DVD/Video_TS Folder option.

Go to the Tools-->Option

Now select the General Tab

Here you can specify the default path of your output file.

 

Now you can choose the output format of the file according to your requirement.

(Either .mp4 or .MKV)

3 options are there

·         Large File

·         Web Optimized

·         iPod 5G support

Now if you want to customize your output file quality just go through following steps

1.       If you want to crop the video picture you can do it via Picture tab.

2.       In Video filters tab you can specify the filters you want to use ( can choose the customizable ) filters also.

3.       In the Video tab you can choose the estimated size of your output file also the codec for video encoding or decoding.

4.       In the Audio tab you can specify the track , can add the new track and customize the bitrate and  the codec.

If you  don’t want to make any changes or want to put the default setting you can use any of the Presets at the right side of the application. Follow the below screen ,

 

I like to use Normal profile as they use to give me best picture quality for DVD to .mp4 format conversion. Though nothing compare to the customizable setting.

So don’t think too much start working on it. Make your big big video web optimized and hell lot of DVD’s into .mp4/mkv file.

How to create local database in Oracle 10g

Hi Guys here is my first post in this blog.

So many students as well as professional faced problem creating a database in local system /desktop.So after finishing the installation of the Oracle 10g we can proceed ..

After the successful completion of the Oracle 10g installation click on

Start ->Oracle ->OraDb10g_home1 -->Configuration and Migration Tools -->Database configuration assistant. It will open a window of Database Configuration Assistant.

Step 1:

Select ‘create a database’ option then click next.

Step 2:

Select the options ‘General Purpose’ then click next.

Step 3:

Provide the database name relevant to your work. Then click next.

Note: Here database name has been written as ‘ds011’.

Step 4:

Select the checkbox ‘Configure database with enterprise manager’ and also select the option ‘Use Database Control for Database Management’. Then click next.

Step 5:

Provide “oracle” for password and confirm password. Then click next.

Step 6:

Select ‘File System’ option. Then click next.

Step 7:

Select option ‘Use Database File Locations from Template’ and click next.

Step 8:

Select ‘Specify Flash Recovery Area’ option and click next.

Note: The flash Recovery Area and Flash Recovery Area size will be populated automatically.

Step 9:

Select next to proceed to next step.

Note: You can select ‘Sample Schema’ if you need it otherwise ignore the option.

Step 10:

Keep everything as default in this step and then click next.

Note: Memory allocation should be selected as ‘Typical’ before going to next step.

Step 11:

A window will show the summary of the Database Storage page. Click on next to proceed to the next step.

Step 12:

Select the ‘Create Database’ checkbox and click next.

At last it will show a confirmation page for the common options just click ‘OK’ button and database creation will start automatically.

The database creation process will take 2 -5 minutes to complete. Click on the finish button to finish the process and come out of the ‘Database Configuration Assistant’ manager. Your database has been created.
